AG Barr Knew About Hunter Biden Investigation For Months – Report

President Trump’s relationship with Attorney General William Barr may be about to take a turn for the worse after a stunning report that the nation’s top law enforcement official knew about a federal investigation into Hunter Biden for months.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Barr had knowledge of probes of the financial and business dealings since at least Spring and took steps to prevent them from being revealed to the public in the run-up to the election.

This week’s bombshell revelation that Joe Biden’s scoundrel of a son is under federal investigation could have made a difference in the election had any honest reporting not been deliberately quashed in order to aid Democrats.

It’s one thing when Twitter and Facebook are censoring the damning story of the lurid and incriminating material on the younger Biden’s abandoned laptop but quite another when the attorney general is also working to keep the details out of the public view.

The report comes as Trump’s frustrations with Barr are at a high level over the lack of action on election irregularities and potential fraud as well as the lack of action from “bulldog” prosecutor John Durham on the origins of the Russiagate hoax.

Via The Hill, “Barr knew about federal probes into Hunter Biden’s financial dealings in spring: WSJ”:

Attorney General William Barr was aware of federal investigations into President-elect Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden before the presidential election, and took pains to ensure they were not made public, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

A person familiar with the matter told the newspaper that Barr has avoided providing information on the probes to congressional Republicans, but did not offer further details.

The report comes the same week that Hunter Biden announced that the U.S. Attorney’s office in Delaware is investigating his tax affairs. The former vice president’s son said that the was informed of the probes when his lawyer was advised of the investigation by federal prosecutors.

Two people familiar with the matter also told the newspaper that federal prosecutors in Manhattan are also investigating his business and finances.

The president-elect is not suspected of wrongdoing and has not been implicated in either investigation, according to the newspaper. Barr was aware of both probes before spring of this year, according to the Journal.

Barr’s image of a no-nonsense steward of a politically polluted Justice Department despite his holding the top spot during the George HW Bush administration has taken a lot of hits recently with many coming to believe that he is little more than a fixer.

According to the WSJ:

The Biden transition team has declined to say when Joe Biden learned of the investigation. A statement circulated by that team on Wednesday said President-elect Biden is “proud of his son, who has fought through difficult challenges, including the vicious personal attacks of recent months, only to emerge stronger.”

While the investigations in Delaware and Manhattan proceeded, investigators tried to keep the cases out of public view by taking few visible steps in the weeks before the November election, recognizing the impact their work could have, said one of the people familiar with the matter.

Mr. Barr was aware of the investigations involving Hunter Biden before the spring, the person said, though it isn’t clear when or how he first learned of the inquiries.

Barr has recently denied reports that he planned to cut and run on President Trump before the inauguration but considering that the WSJ report is the cherry on the top of the cake of the longtime Washington player’s inaction over everything from the spying on the incoming POTUS to ANTIFA, he could be on thin ice.

The swamp takes care of its own.
